Stage 2: bring in your agent, and keep Lovable

Your agent, Claude Code or Codex, works on your code in your own GitHub. Lovable keeps hosting the app and running its database, logins and files, so your users notice nothing. Most founders stay at this stage for good.

You are here when

Lovable’s credits hurt, Lovable keeps looping on a bug, or you want to build with Claude Code or Codex. This stage answers all three without moving anything.

What usually goes wrong at this stage

What it costs: GitHub is free on every Lovable plan (Lovable docs). Claude Code needs a paid Claude plan (Claude Code docs). Lovable still bills run credits for hosting and the database, and credits for every chat message, including the one that deploys server code (Lovable docs, Lovable docs). The Publish button itself is free (Lovable docs).

What this stage gets you

The building moves to your agent, on your own plan, and everything your users touch stays where it is. You can keep using the Lovable editor whenever you like, and you can disconnect GitHub later: your repository stays on GitHub (Lovable docs).

When to move on

Short answers for this stage

The full stage, step by step with the agent prompts, is in the paid guide that comes with the kit.

Not sure which stage your app is in?

The free check asks five questions about your app and gives you the path, what usually breaks on it, and what it costs. It asks; it does not look at your app. About a minute, no email.

If you would rather have your AI agent do the work with you, the kit is $19, one payment: the full guide, an agent skill that runs each stage, guardrails and checks.
